According to IDTechEx, the cost of autonomous vehicles is expected to decline worldwide as they transition from niche to mainstream over the next two decades, with sales forecasted to grow exponentially leading up to 2044.

IDTechEx suggests that autonomous vehicles could provide a solution to the persistent concerns surrounding vehicle security, simplify driver management, and significantly reduce operational costs. According to IDTechEx, the transition to more extensive autonomous capabilities is expected to take around 15-20 years before becoming mainstream.
