SkyDrive, in collaboration with JR Kyushu, aims to explore opportunities for seamless air travel integration that can boost regional tourism and drive tangible progress.

SkyDrive, a Japanese company, and JR Kyushu, a regional railway operator, are jointly exploring the possibility of launching the “SkyDrive” electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft in Kyushu. The initiative aims to capitalize on JR Kyushu’s extensive network of railroad stations and industrial infrastructure to identify innovative transportation corridors.

“JR Kyushu is amplifying its business presence through a diverse portfolio of ventures that enhance daily life and travel experiences by harnessing the company’s extensive capabilities across railway station retail, logistics, food services, tourism, leisure, commercial real estate, and other sectors in Kyushu.”

The research will incorporate comprehensive implementation strategies, business frameworks, and geographic assessments. Firms in the region are confident that the adoption of eVTOL technology will attract more visitors, thereby driving local growth.
