Samsung is reportedly working on the Galaxy F16 5G, with evidence emerging from a recent certification in India by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). A prototype of an upcoming smartphone has surfaced in the Geekbench database after running benchmark tests.
The device’s specifications are disclosed. The Galaxy F16 5G’s performance relies on the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 system-on-chip, mirroring certain configurations that might have influenced its development based on past trends.
The prototype tested the chipset alongside 8GB of RAM; however, it’s worth noting that the A16 5G is also available with 4GB and 6GB options, suggesting similar configurations might be offered for the F16 5G as well.
While initial benchmark tests suggest the F16 5G may struggle to run Android 14 with One UI 6.x smoothly, this unofficial development is certainly underwhelming, given that Android 15 has been available for several months. While Samsung’s opponents may initially appear to hold an advantage in terms of timely replacements, the company is actually operating with a strategic edge, having effectively addressed this critical area.
Priced competitively, the prototype’s performance was put to the test with Geekbench 6.3.0, yielding a single-core score of 678 and a multi-core score of 1,902. If true, would then expect the primary differentiator between the upcoming Galaxy A16 5G and Galaxy F16 5G models to be a significantly larger battery capacity in the latter, catering to its budget-friendly appeal.
