According to Mark Gurman at Bloomberg, Apple has apparently delayed the rollout of numerous iOS 19 features until the release of iOS 19.4, expected to hit shelves in the spring of 2026.
This isn’t entirely out of the ordinary; we’re already witnessing Apple’s strategy unfold with Apple Intelligence and iOS 18, as the revamped Siri won’t become available until iOS 18.4 next spring, despite its introduction alongside all other iOS 18 features at WWDC24.
While Gurman’s latest report doesn’t specify which options have been postponed, it’s evident that they extend beyond the newly delayed ones announced last week.
It is reported that an unusually large array of features slated for iOS 19, beyond the novel Siri updates, have been delayed until spring 2026, with their release scheduled to coincide with the debut of iOS 19.4.
Apple is rumored to be developing iOS 19, which will allegedly “tackle tasks in a way that’s closer to ChatGPT and Google’s Gemini.” However, it won’t be released until a couple of months before the unveiling of iOS 20. (Really feel previous but?)
Apple is poised to unveil iOS 15 at its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in early June 2023. After that, Apple’s main public release will be shipped to customers in September, coinciding with the launch of iPhone 17 models, featuring a revolutionary new design.
