DJI GO 4 – Introducing the latest companion app for DJI’s newest and most advanced drones.

DJI GO 4 – Introducing the latest companion app for DJI’s newest and most advanced drones.

DJI recently unveiled its latest offerings, including the innovative Phantom 4 Professional and the impressive Inspire 2. Additionally, the company has introduced an updated mobile application, DJI GO 4. Here’s a revised version: This app does not replace the current DJI GO app; instead, it serves as an essential companion for owners of Mavic Pro, Phantom 4 Pro, and Inspire 2 drones.

The newly launched app also supports the Phantom 4, with no official statement from DJI on why there are now two versions of their mobile application available.

Diving in, the DJI GO 4 application closely mirrors the existing DJI GO app for both Android and iOS platforms. While up-to-date artwork provides a pleasing start, the options mostly remain unchanged at first glance. As you venture beyond the initial setup, the true potential of your drone unfolds, offering an array of innovative features designed to maximize its capabilities.

DJI has touted two key enhancements in its revamped DJI Go 4 app: near-instant image sharing and refined camera functionality.

When piloting a drone, it’s crucial to consider latency – specifically, when flying with first-person view (FPV) capabilities. Any delay in transmitting the real-time video feed can significantly increase the risk of crashing. DJI’s touted “close to real-time” streaming capability for its high-end drones, such as the Mavic Pro, Phantom 4 Pro, and Inspire 2, amounts to little more than a modest improvement in video transmission speed at this stage. While we shouldn’t diminish the accomplishment, we’ve actually been enjoying near-real-time FPV experiences already.

As darkness falls, a fresh wave of updates is unfolding, enabling seamless transitions from nighttime to daytime broadcasting. We’ll be on high alert for any significant changes in our video streaming services, making adjustments as needed to ensure a smooth experience.

DJI simplifies the process of crafting compelling videos from your aerial captures, offering intuitive tools like customizable music and pre-designed templates within DJI Go 4’s updated features for seamless movie creation.

Despite DJI’s prominent marketing efforts, camera settings require manual adjustments. Allowed adjustments to your digital camera’s settings are now more flexible than ever, enabling you to refine them during actual usage. The sheer volume of drones currently compatible with DJI Go 4’s robust ecosystem makes it clear that these flying cameras are where the focus lies, resulting in a heightened level of digital camera management.

Available for Android devices running Android 4.4 and later. The DJI GO app is now available for download from the Google Play Store at no cost.

Are you among the many who despise the cluttered DJI GO app, seeking a more streamlined experience? We hope that is it.
