Prior to commencing my journey, I was deeply embedded in a senior role at FIS International Companies. As a senior analyst within the Enterprise Intelligence and Digital Transformation group, my primary responsibility entailed developing influential solutions tailored to meet the unique needs of our clients. In particular, I led the initiative to design and develop custom Energy BI dashboards that catered to the unique needs of our customers. At Airtel Worldwide LLP, a key challenge arose within the Airtel Cash division, specifically with managing suspicious transactions identified by SAS analytics programs. Across a customer base of 150 million spread across 14 countries, our system processes approximately 15 million alerts on a monthly basis. Without real-time visibility into Service Level Agreement (SLA) performance, critical issues went undetected and unresolved for an extended period. To avert potential revenue losses, it was crucial to swiftly resolve these alerts, which directly impacted income, within the agreed-upon timeframes.
Utilizing Knowledge Science methodologies, I successfully addressed the SLA reporting issue within Airtel Worldwide LLP’s Income Assurance Compliance department. To address the inherent limitations of month-to-month data analysis within Microsoft Excel, where manual processing consumed 72-96 hours due to the sheer volume of information, I developed a solution. Initially, I established an analogy between a SQL database and a Jupyter notebook, then developed a course structure to create cumulative learning experiences for the 14 participating countries, completing the task within 15 minutes. Building on the insights gleaned from the Service Level Agreement (SLA) experiences, I created a comprehensive Tableau Dashboard that offers a panoramic view of global performance metrics by week, as well as the analysts responsible for addressing each alert. This streamlined strategy not only accelerated reporting, but also significantly enhanced visibility and monitoring capabilities, thereby empowering proactive administration of suspicious transactions and ensuring the integrity of revenue streams.
The introduction of the novel reporting platform generated substantial benefits for our team.
- Time Savings: By transitioning from manual, monthly Excel reports to daily automated reporting via Jupyter Notebook, approximately 3-4 days of human labor were freed up each month. Through this optimisation, the SAS/Airtel Cash team was able to efficiently allocate resources, ultimately ensuring the successful satisfaction of all Service Level Agreement (SLA) targets.
- Enhancing Efficiency in Monitoring: By integrating SLA outcomes into the Tableau dashboard, we gained valuable insights into how analysts handle alerts, previously an overlooked aspect. The introduction of this solution enabled the company to effectively identify brokerages struggling with alert management, thereby allowing for targeted support and guidance programs that ultimately boosted overall operational performance.
- Operational Efficiency: The streamlined reporting process and enhanced efficiency monitoring capabilities of this initiative drove overall effectiveness within the Income Assurance Compliance group.
As progress is made in moving forward, initiatives are being implemented to further intensify reporting cadence, with the ultimate goal of disseminating insights on a near-real-time basis.
