Bose has acquired a transfer that the company claims will “significantly” expand its product portfolio. The acquisition, encompassing McIntosh’s subsidiary Sonus faber, also “opens up new opportunities in the automotive sector” as both companies aim to collaborate on developing innovative in-car audio solutions.
By combining Bose’s four decades of leadership in automotive audio innovation with McIntosh Group’s heritage of precision engineering and design excellence, the partners will collaborate to advance the science of in-car sound and create genuinely immersive driving experiences that set a new standard for the industry.
Bose and McIntosh are unlikely to revamp their existing product lines. Bose plans to roll out new headphones, audio systems, soundbars, and in-car audio products, while McIntosh and Sonus faber will expand their offerings of high-end audio goods, including amplifiers, speakers, and turntables.
The buyer audio business has grow to be an increasing number of consolidated over time, with Masimo choosing up a number of well-known manufacturers like Polk, Bowers & Wilkins, Denon, when it purchased Sound United in 2022. Meanwhile, Samsung acquired Harman International Industries, the parent company of JBL and Harman Kardon, in late 2017. A group of prominent audio manufacturers, including Klipsch, Pioneer, and Onkyo.
