At VMware’s recent Barcelona convention, the company unveiled a suite of cloud services and products, including an updated version of the Tanzu DevSecOps platform, data engine integrations, and novel edge computing hardware.
Broadcom’s declaration that 50 VMware Cloud Service Providers now cater to information sovereignty needs may spark particular interest among European tech service consumers, given the region’s emphasis on data protection and security regulations.
Broadcom completed its acquisition of VMware in November 2023.
“As we approach the one-year anniversary of VMware joining Broadcom, several significant changes appear to be yielding dividends,” wrote Prashanth Shenoy, Broadcom’s Chief Marketing Officer and Vice President of Marketing for Cloud Platform, Infrastructure, and Solutions, in a blog post dated October. 31. “We’ve streamlined operations, refocused on key initiatives, executed with precision, and made tangible progress towards achieving our innovation goals.”
VMware has announced that Tanzu Platform 10 will be generally available on November 15th. 27
The VMware Tanzu Platform 10, the latest iteration of the Tanzu DevSecOps utility platform, is expected to be released in November. 27, Broadcom introduced. Platform 10 serves as the primary enabler for Tanzu to support self-managed, air-gapped environments effectively. The solution empowers both private and public cloud implementations, featuring tools for governing generative AI capabilities.
Purnima Padmanaban, supervisor of VMware’s Tanzu division at Broadcom, revealed in a press statement that numerous customers’ utility deployments have increasingly spread across various Cloud Foundry infrastructure platforms. Following the release of Tanzu Platform 10, VMware introduced a novel layer of abstraction designed to streamline administration, amplify security measures, and facilitate governance controls specifically for customers.
Within the novel architecture, generative AI capabilities will be seamlessly integrated into Tanzu, mirroring the deployment of various Cloud Foundry functions on a tile. These functions enable integration with VMware’s vSphere AI Accelerator, a cloud-based platform that provides scalable hosting on NVIDIA graphics processing units (GPUs).
VMware Tanzu Platform 10 comprises further capabilities.
- The importance of compliance with Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) libraries when deploying VMware Tanzu Spring, ensuring secure and trustworthy infrastructure for mission-critical applications?
- Configurations for native information companies.
- Helm-based commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) utilities significantly enhance cluster management capabilities for containerized applications on VMware Tanzu Kubernetes Grid’s built-in environment, streamlining deployment and operations.
- Developing expertise in Kubernetes for customised functions, akin to a Cloud Foundry proficiency.
What’s driving innovation in cloud-native applications and modernizing traditional IT environments is the seamless integration of VMware’s virtualization expertise with the power of Kubernetes. The VMware Tanzu suite, specifically Tanzu Data Services, offers a robust foundation for building cloud-agnostic, scalable, and secure data platforms that harmonize on-premises and multi-cloud environments seamlessly?
VMware has launched a groundbreaking service, VMware Tanzu Information Services, offering self-service access to data engines like Postgres for its VMware Cloud Foundation customers. VMware aims to reduce wait times and workload complexity for personal cloud administrators across various industries of knowledge-intensive organizations by optimizing data consumption, management, and support within VMware Cloud Foundation environments.

The information engines supported are PostgreSQL, MySQL, RabbitMQ, and ValveKey.
Broadcom may make Tanzu Information Companies available as early as its first quarter of 2025, which commences in November of that year.
What VeloCloud Edge 4100 and 5100 appliances, specifically designed for the home, bring to the table is the capability to accelerate the adoption of edge AI.
As artificial intelligence permeates the realm of enterprise software, VMware has introduced innovative tools for AI-powered networking through its VeloCloud platform.
“For much of this decade, a sense of unease has loomed large on the horizon for many companies.” Notwithstanding recent advancements, the proliferation of AI and AI-related workloads has served as a catalyst, propelling interest from mere curiosity to tangible proof-of-concepts and widespread adoption on the edge, according to Zeus Kerravala, founder and principal analyst at ZK Analysis, in a statement for Broadcom. “One major obstacle to widespread AI workload deployment lies in balancing complexity and efficiency: corporations must ensure that the most skilled resources are utilized optimally across the organization.”
Broadcom’s innovative solutions aim to simplify the complexity by incorporating:
- Quicker Identification and Prioritization of Latest Edge AI Functions with the Brand-New Velorain Structure. According to Broadcom, its technology is expected to enable the encryption of previously unoptimizable web traffic, making it inaccessible to network optimization solutions.
- The prioritization aspect originates from Dynamic Utility-Based Slicing, a methodology that categorizes customers by their unique identifiers and attributes.
- Enhanced network performance ensures seamless connectivity and high-quality experiences while networking over 5G or satellite TV on PC with VeloRAIN.
The VeloCloud Edge 4100 and 5100 home appliances are designed to enable scalable networks and secure connectivity for organizations that require robust edge computing capabilities, including artificial intelligence (AI) at the edge. The newly launched home equipment and advanced VeloRAN architecture may become available from Broadcom’s first quarter, commencing November. 4.
Broadcom introduces generative AI capabilities into its comprehensive Safety Suite.
Broadcom has expanded its VMware vDefend portfolio. The VDefend CleverHelp may also facilitate menace detection, evaluation, and remediation.
VMware’s Avi Load Balancer has been refined to optimise load balancing for both VCF and Kubernetes environments, thereby enhancing automation, resilience, and future-proofing of operational capabilities, as a direct response to the recent Broadcom announcement. Availability will likely become universal by November. 5.
