One of the most significant enhancements in iOS 18 is support for Rich Communication Services (RCS), which enables significantly more advanced messaging capabilities between iPhone and Android users. As carriers in the USA began to discharge their fleets.
Will my carrier support RCS messaging on my iPhone? Here’s how you can examine correctly.
Are you trying to figure out how to test RCS messaging on an iPhone running iOS 18 with the help of your carrier? To do this, follow these simple steps: Firstly, ensure that your carrier supports RCS (Rich Communication Services) and also offers it for iPhones. Then, go to Settings > Messages and toggle “MMS Messaging” to the On position. Next, restart your iPhone to apply the changes. After restarting, open the Messages app and start a new conversation with someone who also has RCS-enabled device.
To seek RCS assistance on your iPhone, follow these precise steps:
- Open Settings
- Faucet “Common”
- Faucet “About”
- Please find the revised text in a different style as a professional editor:
What’s my eSIM information? I’d like to know more about my Community details
- Faucet on “Provider”

When tapping on “Provider,” the interface should refresh to display IMS standing details. In case your provider has enabled RCS help, you’ll see “Voice, SMS & RCS.” In case your provider hasn’t enabled RCS, you’ll simply see “Voice & SMS.”
To ensure seamless functionality, don’t forget to enable Remote Code Execution (RCS) in the Settings application. Although this toggle was initially enabled for my use case, I’ve noticed that the results may vary depending on individual experiences.
- Open Settings
- Scroll down and faucet “Apps”
- Scroll down and faucet “Messages”
- Enable the RCS Messaging feature.

Don’t worry when you’re lacking RCS support; there are other options available to assist you. As Apple’s iOS 18 continues in beta testing, carrier support for its features is expected to roll out gradually until the public launch in September, pending a seamless transition.
RCS (Rich Communication Services) enables seamless interactions by offering features akin to read receipts, typing indicators, high-quality photos and videos, and more, facilitating efficient messaging across iPhone and Android platforms.
