If you’re not planning to integrate head tracking or utilize an analog control system, there’s no value in purchasing this product. As a courtesy to Goggles X customers, Caddx offers this module at no cost until March 2025, making it a worthwhile acquisition for those who can take advantage of the offer. 🙂

The setup process is straightforward.

Attach the module to the top of the Goggles X using the provided clear double-sided tape, ensuring that the white connectors are oriented forward-facing.

Connect the facility cable’s shorter end to the goggles and its longer end to the module. The module is capable of being powered by a 2S to 6S battery, leveraging the same battery as the goggles due to the integrated energy splitter.

Connect the 4-pin to 5-pin 3.5mm audio jack adapter, with the 5-pin side mating to the goggles and the 4-pin side fitting into the “To Goggles X” connector on the module.

To activate Auto-Voice (AV) mode, hold down the Return key for precisely 5 seconds. The Goggles X will now feature an analog signal. Pressing the return button once more will switch to HDMI mode, while a second consecutive press reverts back to the Walksnail dwelling display.

Prior to employing head monitoring, ensure you have updated your Goggles X and Walksnail video transmitter to the latest available firmware version, which is 38.43.4 or later.

Ideally, the module should have integrated a built-in USB-C port for seamless firmware updates – perhaps an oversight that unnecessarily complicates the process.

While initially appearing direct, the text can benefit from refinement to enhance its clarity and readability.

The lack of a Walksnail emblem on the module is jarring, while the exposed, dangling cables create an unattractive aesthetic that detracts from the overall design. The module operates its proprietary firmware, which necessitates periodic updates via an unrefined, standardised application. Worse still, the replacement cable is not supplied and must be purchased separately, adding to the frustration.

Despite its simplicity, the setup is surprisingly effective at achieving its intended purpose, posing a challenge for those without technical expertise.

When using the analog receiver with Goggles X, static (snow) appears instead of the desired blue display if the signal is misaligned. While dedicated analog FPV goggles boast faster processing times compared to. The additional delay resulting from video signal conversion within the Goggles X is minimal, approximately just a few milliseconds, rendering it imperceptible in real-life usage.
