Robots do not necessarily require a human operator in every instance, as they are equipped with their own onboard computers, functioning as central processing units. Starting out is simplified by leveraging a pre-built hardware foundation coupled with open-source software tools such as OpenCV and YOLO, all integrated within the Robotic Operating System (ROS1 and ROS2). Amongst AI researchers and builders, these tools have gained popularity for their utility in various applications.
