Microsoft is reminding prospective customers that numerous editions of Windows 11 21H2 and 22H2 will reach their end-of-service date within 60 days, specifically on October 8, 2024.

The announcement pertains to Windows 11 (22H2) Home, Pro, Pro Education, Pro for Workstations, and SE variants released on September 20, 2022? As scheduled, Windows 11 21H2 will reach end-of-service for its Enterprise, Education, and IoT Enterprise editions on the same day.

The upcoming October 2024 software update, scheduled to launch on October 8, 2024, will mark the last available update for these specific editions. From that point forward, devices running these editions will no longer receive monthly security and preview updates, which include protection against the latest threats.

“To ensure seamless protection and productivity, Windows Update automatically triggers feature updates for Windows 11 Home and Pro devices not managed by IT administrators when these systems approach end-of-service.”

Clients can access details about the end-of-service dates for various Windows releases on the website by using the search function.

Microsoft also provides notifications for products and services that are slated to be retired or have reached end-of-life within the next few months.

The installation of Windows 11 2023 Update?

The Windows 11, version 23H2, also known as the Windows 11 2023 Update, commenced a phased rollout to Launch Preview Insiders for enterprise testing purposes and was officially released as an enablement package.

Microsoft started proactively installing the update in February for eligible applications nearing or having already surpassed their end-of-service milestones.

Microsoft has started rolling out Windows 11, version 23H2, also known as the Windows 11 2023 Update, to a new set of users. Microsoft announced that it is starting to automatically upgrade compatible Windows 11 devices to version 23H2.
